FAQs

  • What is the Ukraine Shortlist?
The Ukraine Shortlist is an initiative that spotlights and supports high-impact, grassroots NGOs operating in Ukraine. Our goal is to connect exceptional local projects with international allies and donors.

    Who runs the Ukraine Shortlist?
It is led by the Paddy Accelerator team and supported by a volunteer subcommittee of advisors and subject-matter experts who oversee the running of the Shortlist.

Why was the Ukraine Shortlist created?
To amplify and validate the incredible work being done by locals, for locals — and to help funders and global allies discover, trust, and support these efforts more effectively.

How can I support the Ukraine Shortlist?
The most impactful way is by becoming a monthly donor. For less than the price of one coffee a month, you can help us keep this initiative running and expanding. Your support goes directly to helping people in Ukraine facing unimaginable hardship.

Do donated funds go directly to the listed projects?
Yes. Paddy Accelerator charges no administrative fees so 100% of your donation goes to charities on the Shortlist.

How are donations distributed to projects?
Currently, funds are split evenly between projects. However, this is not a contractual commitment and may evolve. The subcommittee may revise the allocation of funds based on need, scale, and additional considerations.

Is there public reporting or transparency?
Yes. We will publish quarterly updates and impact stories on our website, and we welcome public feedback on all listed projects.

How do I contact the Ukraine Shortlist team?
You can email us anytime at info@ukraineshortlist.com.

  • How are projects selected for the Ukraine Shortlist?
Projects are nominated and reviewed by our volunteer Subcommittee. We assess each initiative based on criteria such as impact, transparency, community leadership, and alignment with Ukraine’s urgent needs.

    Can I nominate a project?
Absolutely. We welcome nominations from individuals, organisations, funders, and local communities. Use the nomination form on our website to submit a project for review.

How often is the shortlist updated?
We update the list on a rolling basis, with formal reviews every quater.

    Are shortlisted projects guaranteed funding?
Funding for projects is allocated on a rolling basis. All funding is dependent on the contributions made by our donors and so cannot be guaranteed.

How are donations distributed to projects?
Currently, funds are split evenly between projects. However, this is not a contractual commitment and may evolve. The subcommittee may revise the allocation of funds based on need, scale, and additional considerations.

Can I update my project’s information after being listed?
Yes. You’re welcome to submit updates, impact reports, or new materials at any time. Just email us at info@ukraineshortlist.com.

How do you ensure the credibility of shortlisted projects?
All projects are vetted by our Subcommittee. We ask for transparency in operations and ask organisations to share regular updates and reports every quarter.

What information should I submit in a report, and how often?
We want to keep reporting as simple as possible for the Shortlist. Your normal reporting means are sufficient for the Subcommittee to review - this can be impact data, photos, written testimonials, etc. Reports will be collected every quarter after a grant has been given.
